As a Real Estate Broker, I feel lucky everyday to do what I do, I don't feel there is a better city in the country to build my business and my life. Chicago is amazing in so many ways, catering to a vast array of interests, offering multiple types of housing options all within boundaries that are accessible and easy to navigate. Over the years, my clients have introduced me to a wide variety of events and opportunities and I am grateful for those opportunities and my clients everyday. There is nothing more satisfying than calling a client to check in after their home purchase to check in and hear that they absolutely love the place they now call home. I am honored to have been chosen to act as an advocate for them as they bought their home where memories will be made, or help them sell their home, where their memories will always live.
As the Director of Broker Development at Peak Realty Chicago I support the brokers on a day to day basis and assist them in creating personalized business plans that leverage their expertise in the industry and client engagement.
The most important value I see when it comes to my job is meeting people where they are in their career currently and creating a personalized path to their success. Everyone is different and can get to the same set of goals in different ways, real estate isn't a place for out of the box training. It's my job to ensure they have the tools, knowledge and support to get there in the most efficient way while still being as effective as possible in their day to day operations. Everyone can be given the same map on their roadtrip to success, but everyone will stop for a snack and a photo op at different points, the overarching goal is to get everyone to the same place at the end of the trip without too many bumps in the road.
My previous work experience has been a wild adventure rooted in both education and real estate over the last 20 years. I have led classrooms full of two years old, while simultaneously adjuncting at colleges in the evening teaching adults who will be their future educators. I have been a repetitive top performer in sales offices, and in the luxury leasing space over the years. Ultimately, I found myself combining all of the skills I learned along the way and found myself educating those in the field of real estate. It's from the culmination of merging these two fields that I have found the perfect fit for my own path to success. Over my years of educating real estate talent in the city, I have found that leading in a professional environment is similar to teaching in a classroom. The most important skill is the ability to recognize how your student or mentee learns and experiences the world. Ultimately finding ways to use their perspective to assist them in visualizing and understanding their next steps in their career, and be there to help them find their way with the level of support they require.
When I'm not at work, I spend my time cooking, visiting the farmers market, comedy shows, music fests, yoga and spending time with friends and my dogs! My hope is to add some more travel on this list in the future, my list keeps growing, so it's probably time to start crossing more places off!
